As a little girl, Debby was often found behind the Grotrian Steinweg grand piano that stood in her family home. She played sonatas of Beethoven for hours on end. Incidentally, piano didn’t attract her as a listener at all. She found her way listening to heavy metal, hard rock and punk. As a musician, she wanted to create the music she would like to hear, but as a classical pianist that wasn’t inherently possible. While trying to play the guitar she found she couldn’t quite grasp it in the same manner as the grand piano because she simply didn’t have the technical skills. Then she discovered that she could put a rough sound down with keys while playing with distortion on Hammond organs and following that she discovered multiple synthesizers. Piece by piece the puzzle fell into place. Creating guitarish sounds with keys opened up her heart again and they still form the basis of her style today.
She started studying keyboards at the Rockacademie. From this point onwards, the rest went automatically. Debby began writing songs and started singing. From these songs the urge arose to create complete productions and she found out playing keys was just a small part of what she wanted. She had a whole song complete in her head and wanted to be able to create a finished product from scratch. So she quit the Rockacademie and start studying music production at the Conservatory of Enschede. During her study she specialized in songwriting and recording & mixing. Throughout her internship she discovered that she had another ambition. She began writing songs and voice-overs for commercials and found satisfaction in shorter term projects. She founded her company “Your Sound Productions” in 2021. Your Sound Productions specializes in songs and voice-overs for commercials.
